The inspection port is equipped with accessories that can open the inspection cover, and is installed on the drainage riser and the longer horizontal pipe section for inspection and clearing.

The inspection port is generally installed in the riser for cleaning when there is a foreign matter clogging at the connection between the riser and the lateral branch pipe. The distance between the inspection openings on the cast iron drainage riser is not more than 10m, and the plastic drainage riser should be provided with an inspection opening every six layers. However, inspection openings must be provided at the lowest level and at the highest level of buildings with two or more floors equipped with sanitary appliances. Vent openings can be used instead of inspection openings in flat roof buildings. In addition, if the riser is equipped with a B-shaped tube, an inspection port should be provided on the upper part of the B-shaped tube. When the drainage lateral branch pipe section exceeds the specified length, an inspection port should also be provided. An inspection port or a sweeping port shall be provided on the drainage horizontal pipe with a water flow deflection angle greater than 45 °. The inspection opening on the riser shall be 1.0m above the floor (floor) and shall be 0.15m higher than the upper edge of the sanitary appliance on this floor.
